Graphic Design Band Poster

Assignment: Create a poster for a political event, a cause, or a band. I chose a band. The Blood Brothers. What you see below is my interpretation of one of the characters in their song "the Salesman, Denver Max".

Illustration assignment: Charity poster

We were asked to illustrate posters for a charity of our choice. I chose Invisible Children. Its about 90% done.

Theres supposed to be some type at the bottom but i left it out for now for legality issues (if there are any).

Made some canvases. 12 to be exact!

Bought some stuff. (stretcher bars, staples for my heavy duty stapler, black gesso, and some canvas from home depot)

Stapled them together.

Cut some canvas out for each one.

Stapled one side in the center, then stretched and stapled the opposite side in the center.

Took a Fanta lake break.

Then alternated stapling the opposite adjacent side. One on top to the right, then one on bottom to the left. Making sure the canvas is being stretch before stapling it.

Folded.

Tried to catch a duck but it flew away.

Gessoed them black.

They came out great. I should've taken some sandpaper to them before painting on them. Lesson learned.
