Some pages from a recent sketch book

Here are some sketches from one of my recent sketchbooks. There are not in any specific order. If anything they are chronological starting with the most recent.

 Charles's drums

Chili's in Sarasota

 Chase n' Eileen

 Growler's open mic

This has turned out, so far, to be more of a journal than a "sketchbook". I've recorded snippets of life almost everyday. When I started it I did. Now, I've gone back to treating like another sketchbook. Which is good. I came across a blog the other day. Kyle Mccullough. Awesome. It was so inspiring to see all of his sketches. It made me want to sketch more and take more time with some of them. The first three at the top are after seeing his blog. So my computers dying and that constitutes me ending this post. Hope you enjoyed it. I'll post some others soon.

Update of old things

So it's been a bit since my last update. I've been spending time with the family down from Louisiana. Good times.
I was looking through a folder on my computer and found some old things I never posted either because I felt they weren't "good enough" (what ever that means) or just never got around to it.

Something I made a competition. It was the "Embracing Our Differences" competition.
Part 2 of 3 illustrations depicting aging (an assignment in george Pratt's illustration class). (Birth/Youth, Middle age/work, Old age/death). It's a vertical triptych and this is the middle piece. Now that I've come across this piece I'll look for the other scans and post 'em soon.

What did I mean by "good enough"? Well, I got to a point where I realized that I was posting only the "good" illustrations and not enough process related things. I'm human and I make mistakes and, or, terrible decisions sometimes. Why not share them with the rest of the world as well?

Walter White and Jesse Pinkman (Ten Paces and Draw)

I participated in the character redesign project for Ten Paces and Draw. I chose to redesign Walter White and Jesse Pinkman from the series Breaking Bad. Here they are. I was staying at a hotel that charged ten dollars a day for internet access. I had no choice but to pay for it because I wasn't going to be around internet access for another 2 days and this was due Saturday. So I did both of these in one day.

The lesson I received from this project was: Do not save over your only large file with one that is only 500 pixels on the longest side :(

Hendrix AGAIN!

Here's another musician portrait. It's not finished but I figured it's enough to see where I'm going with it and what I've been up to. I'm currently working on a character redesign project for Ten Paces and Draw. I'm redesigning Walter White and Jesse Pinkman from Breaking Bad. That show is flawlessly good.

Coming back to Miami, after being in Sarasota for a little over 2 months, has been quite the change. However I know everything will take it's course and fall into place like it always does.
