Here are some recent pages from my sketchbook. Been doing these little spaceship-like drawings. I picture them flying above a city making that WAH WAH WAH sound. I don't really know what they are but that's how I see them. I like 'em'. I like 'em a lot.

Portrait of Vivian German
Lianne's (my girlfriend) boss retired this passed Sunday. So she thought it was a good idea for me to paint a portrait of her to give her as a little retirement gift. I agreed. It took me a total of 10 1/2 hours to complete this portrait. I broke a palette knife in the process only to ingeniously re-fashion it onto the end of an exacto knife handle. I was truly proud of that moment.
This is a portrait of Vivian German, the director at the Child Care Center at Riviera Presbyterian Church in South Miami. Her retirement party was yesterday and my portrait was there to greet everyone as they walked into the banquet hall. I'll later post some more process pics. I like the blue under-painting better but I wasn't going to leave her looking like a smurf.

Sketching with ink
Been playing around with these two brush pens. I love the deep blacks I'm getting. It's that... sumi ink is what its called? Then I bought this other brush pen that my friends dog got a hold of and chewed up the cap. He also pierced the pen itself but didn't break through so the ink is in place and I replaced the cap with a crayola washable markers cap, which fits perfectly. Almost.
Some dude that came up in the king kamehameha google search
That's it for now.

Been having fun with these brush pens. You know, the ones that can be refilled and squeezed. Here are some more sketches from my most recent sketchbook. There are other pages I would like to post but I've loaded this book with tons of personal information. Maybe I'll just post it anyway.
